Some months you really look forward to what the postie will bring you for review and other months there is another disc set of Naruto - the show that doesn’t know when to quit. I worked it out last night that watched back to back I have now seen enough of these shows to last a whole three and a half days - days I will never get back.

Naruto Unleashed: Series 7 - Volume 2 continues with the theme that what people really want is pointless filler episodes, Even the PR sheet was empty as everyone involved starts to run out of anything useful to say about the show. One thing you can never complain about though with these releases is the generous amount of episodes in each set; this volume contains episodes 170-182. The format remains the same with either an English or Japanese audio track with optional English subtitles.

Across the disc we have the usual collection of fairly pointless quest stories mixed in with some truly awful stand-alone comedy shows. I especially want the time back I spent watching the show about the ninja postman - oh how the mighty have fallen. There are the usual fights, in fact the show is no longer about Naruto wanting to become a great Hokage, that seems to have been left far back in the history of the show. The story, such as it is, remains now an excuse for Naruto to engage in one pointless fight after another.

It’s not just the reviewers who appear to be getting tired of the show as the quality of animation has been on the decline for some time. The disc contains little in the way of extras, only four trailers, mostly for better shows.

If you are a fan of the show I’m sure you will rush out and buy the set, after all if you have gotten to this point you will already have spent a considerable amount of money so you might as well go for the complete collection. For anyone else, buy the first couple of season when the show was, at least, half good.
