Cut off from his home and trapped in the body of a dead serial killer, the dimension-hopping Rac Shade has been reborn as Shade, the Changing Man - an unwilling conduit for the power of madness, pledged to combat the rising tide of Earth's insanity. After surviving their first encounter with the burgeoning menace known as the American Scream, Shade and his companion Kathy find themselves drawn first to New York and then to San Francisco, where psychotic and psychedelic outbreaks threaten to unravel the very fabric of reality. But even as they work to contain the damage, an even deadlier enemy is gathering strength - and it's closer than either of them can imagine...

Edge of Vision is the second volume in the Shade, the Changing man series of graphic novels and collects together issues #7-13 of the Shade, the Changing Man comic book series which was originally printed in the early '90s. This volume sees Shade and Kathy George continue on their epic, mind-bending journey into the heartland of a nation on the trail of The American Scream.

After the rather interesting first volume, I have to admit I was more than a little disappointed with some of this second release. While this volume opens well, it soon goes a little too trippy and I couldn't help feeling that writer Peter Milligan was simply stretching the material as thinly as possible in order to avoid coming up with any real plot. However, it soon picks up again.

If you can wade through the padding, you'll find this to be another fairly enjoyably collection.
