In the spirit of classic anthology films like Creepshow and Twilight Zone: The Movie and containing films that celebrate the golden age of anatrichilia, Chillerama spans over four decades of cinematic excellence, offering viewers a glimpse into the joy of the late-night feature. The Zom-B-Movie segment was directed by Joe Lynch...

The score to Chillerama: Zom-B-Movie is one that you're going to instantly fall in love with, or not get your head round at all. Bear McCreary has taken elements of just about every horror movie going and blended a score that is original while bringing to mind just about every horror cliche imaginable.

There's very strong musical influences from old horror b-movies, but there's also a liberal sprinkling of Jerry Goldsmith-esque tracks thrown into the mix.

There's moments of comedy ('Deathication (Movement #2)') cliched horror (like the church organ based 'Fugue In Z Minor') but also elements of classical beauty ('Cecil And Orson'; 'One Hell Of A Show').

In addition there are a couple of tracks from the long lost Deathication directed by Fernando Phagbeefy - with composition by Sir Lion Magillicutty. Yes, you've guessed it, a spoof long-lost movie with a rockin' '70s disco soundtrack by McCreary. It's all handled tongue in cheek, but actually sounds authentic enough that you could be forgiven for believing it's for real.

While this album won't be to everyone's tastes, those who are steeped in horror mythology will get a serious kick out of it - even the cheesy rock track 'I Don't Want To Die a Virgin' works well.
