Alberto Iglesias's score to The Skin I Live In is an impressive offering harking back to a bygone era of film soundtrack compositions.

Tracks like 'Duelo Final' and 'Rojo y Negro' brought to mind the work of Bernard Herrmann. In fact it's not unfair to say that Herrmann is probably the inspiration for the majority of the music here.

You certainly get value for money, as this album's 20 tracks come in at 1 hr, 13 min, 10 sec. Overall this is an impressive release that will be warmly welcomed by collectors of old school scores.
