This orchestral score (which also incorporates substantial choral writing, ethnic colours and adrenaline-pumping rhythm programming) is written for a story about “treasure guards” working for a covert organization based in the Vatican and a race to secure the ancient Seal of Solomon. The German television movie stars Anna Friel and Raoul Bova and Michael Richard Plowman’s feature film approach to the movie results in a lot of musical excitement with an epic main theme, an exquisite Barry-esque love theme and a lot of propulsive action music...

I was impressed with Michael Richard Plowman's previous scores released through MovieScore Media, Age of Heroes and A Lonely Place to Die, and once again he delivers a gripping and interesting collection of tracks that consist of beautiful themes and action adventure suspense set pieces. This time his work has a ring of John Barry about it.

Of this album's 20 tracks (which represents almost 45 mins of music) highlights include 'Love Theme and Sneaking into Rome'; 'Love and Sand / One Place Left to Look'; 'A Real Treasure Guard'; the last segment of 'The Break-In and Passing the Time'; 'A Delicate Past and Hidden Secrets'; and 'Treasure Guards'.

In addition 'The Tomb and the Scroll of Solomon' reminded me of David Arnold's work for Stargate, while 'Diamonds and Guns' brought to mind the music Hans Zimmer delivered for Angels & Demons.

This is a wonderful score and, with Plowman's music growing increasingly more intricate and powerful with each soundtrack release, I'm very much looking forward to hearing his next project.
