Brian Tyler score for Transformers Prime is one of his most impressive to date. I was impressed with his work on The Expendables and Rambo (less so with his music for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3) and was expecting more of the same from this album. Little did I suspect that this would make his previous work pale in comparison.

There are so many powerful themes woven throughout this album that you'll be spoilt for choice. Highlights for me included 'Transformers Prime'; 'Optimus Prime Returns'; 'We Have Returned'; 'Dogfight'; and 'Transformers Prime End Title'.

If you like strong theme based scores then you need to pick this album up. It reminded me of Hans Zimmer and Lorne Balfe's score for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. It's not often a shiver goes up and down my spine when reviewing soundtracks... but it did on more than one occasion listening to this. Pretty impressive for music that was designed for an animated kids show...
