Portuguese composer Nuno Malo’s first major feature film score gets its world premiere on CD. Written for the film version of James Redfield’s best-selling novel, The Celestine Prophecy, the awe-inspiring score is written for orchestra and choir, and features an abundance of beautiful themes and set-pieces. Ethnical instrumentation gives the score interesting colours. It’s a score that will remind listeners of the most beautiful of James Horner’s compositions...

Nuno Malo's emotionally charged score for the 2006 movie adaptation of James Redfield's 1993 The Celestine Prophecy novel finally finds its way onto CD and MP3 thanks to MovieScore Media's Discovery Collection. This is the twelth album in the series which aims to publish the very best of scores that were passed over for a release at the time of the movie's launch.

The press release mentioned the James Horner-esque vibe to this album. However, I have to admit that, with the exception of 'The Little Girl' (which very much in the style of Horner's output) this felt more like a Thomas Newman inspired score.

The album contains 22 tracks and lasts for 1 hr, 01 min, 47 sec. Malo delivers so many beautiful themes and standalone pieces that you'll need to spend quite some time getting to know this soundtrack. And, once you've exhausted it, it's certainly one you'll come back to time and time again in the future.
