Lakeshore Records release Cody Westheimer's score for Journey to Space. NASA's next era will be its greatest yet. The film absolutely annihilates the perception that the space program died with the end of the Space Shuttle Program by showcasing the exciting plans NASA and the space community are working on, and the challenges they must overcome to carry out audacious missions such as landing astronauts on Mars and capturing asteroids...

Cody Westheimer's score for Journey to Space delivers exactly what you'll be expecting for a film that aims to show that NASA is still very much at the forefront of space exploration. The album opens with the big and bold 'The Endless Horizon', along the way stopping to visit Gustav Holst's 'Mars' from The Planets suite, before closing with a reworking of Johann Strauss II 'The Blue Danube'.

There are some interesting, modern tracks, like the electric guitar based 'Space Science'; as well as more contemporary classic themes, like 'ISS Construction'. In fact, from track to track you don't know what Westheimer is going to deliver next.

It's an interesting score that's worth exploring.
