MovieScore Media presents French composer Guillaume Roussel's score for director Nick Powell's Outcast. The movie tells the story of the heir to the Imperial throne who becomes the target of an assassination by his despised older brother. The young prince finds protection with war-weary crusader named Jacob, and the mythical outlaw known only as The White Ghost. The unlikely trio must fight together in an epic battle to return the prince to his rightful place on the throne...

Guillaume Roussel's score for Outcast contains 13 tracks (45 min, 34 sec) and brought to mind the work of Hans Zimmer, especially his work on The Last Samurai and King Arthur... there's even a faint hint of Gladiator.

This style of score isn't usually my thing, nor are the movies that they are designed to accompany, but Rossel does an excellent job of providing a good, solid Medieval action/adventure score without sounding too cliched.

Personal highlights include the strong theme at the centre of 'Hero' and the rather impressive, epic sound of 'Dangerous Silk Road'

Fans of the early years of Zimmer, as well as those who love Medieval action/adventure scores, will get a lot of satisfaction from this album.
