Bear McCreary releases, through his Sparks & Shadows label, his score for the third season of Da Vinci's Demons. In season three, Leonardo Da Vinci's world comes crashing down when the city of Otranto is torn apart by an Ottoman invasion. On the battlefield, the Turks use da Vinci's own weapons against him... The designs for which were stolen by someone he trusted...

Bear McCreary's score for the third season of Da Vinci's Demons sees the composer go from strength to strength - this is easily the most impressive collection of themes to date. The score contains 15 tracks (1 hr, 10 min, 43 sec). Everything, it seems, has been reworked from the ground up. The show's main theme is a lot more eerie and subtle than previous incarnations, and there's more of a gothic, dark feel to the proceedings.

This, for me, elevated the soundtrack from being one that was interesting to one that was an essential purchase. I couldn't help notice that there were more elements than in previous seasons of Hans Zimmer's score for The Da Vinci Code. The score's heavy choral element helps to push this to the forefront.

Basically, if you love powerful, beautiful music then you should add this album to your soundtrack collection.
