Daniel Davies and Sebastian Robertson's score for Condemned is released through Lakeshore Records. In the film, a rich girl from the suburbs runs away from her abusive home to go live with her boyfriend in NYC, only to discover that he lives with his friends inside a creepy abandoned building. The girl slowly discovers the crazy mix of characters living in the building with her. But when a toxic gas is released from all the waste and filth that has accumulated in the basement, everyone in the building falls victim to the maddening effects of the gas...

I have to admit that I wasn't overly struck with Daniel Davies and Sebastian Robertson's score for Condemned. It sounded a little out of time and was hard to appreciate on its own merits. While I'm sure in the film it works wonders, listened to in isolation it just seems a little bizarre.

In fact, of this score's 14 tracks (27 min, 31 sec) I only really enjoyed the jazz-based 'Johnny's Jazz (ft. Cody Carpenter)' and 'Maya's Hope'.

This is certainly a score you'll need to try before you buy.
