Silva Screen Records release Cristobal Tapia de Veer's electronic score for Channel 4 series Humans. Based on the award-winning Swedish science fiction drama Real Humans, the series explores the complicated emotions arising from the blurring of lines between “synths” (humanoid artificial intelligence) and humans...

Cristobal Tapia de Veer's work for Humans is an electronic score with both a heart and a soul. Somehow, and don't ask me how he does it, but Tapia de Veer manages to explore so many musical genres and deliver a wealth of incredible themes that it's almost too much to take in. After the first play through, he'd successfully managed to scramble my senses and fry my mind with an overload of thoughts and feelings.

Across this album's 22 tracks (1 hr, 22 min, 52 sec) there are segments that could almost be considered subtle, modern dance tracks ('Synthetic Humans Intelligence') as well as plenty of tracks that come under the umbrella of electronic classical music ('Apricot Jam') and finally we have beautiful electronic themes ('Bring Her Back').

It's an impressive album and certainly one that those who normally steer clear of electronic scores should seek out.
