For me, this album had slightly more going for it than the Batman Unlimted: Monster Mayhem score. Both are impressive, but Animal Instincts takes a step closer to James Bond action adventure territory. In fact, 'To the Roof' and 'Nightwing Falls' brought to mind David Arnold's score for Casino Royale. I was also reminded of John Williams's work on Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade when listening to 'The Chase'.

The album contains 42 tracks (50 min, 33 sec) and there isn't a wasted second of music. It's pretty obvious that Kevin Riepl had a blast composing the music, and this sense of enthusiastic fun comes bursting through in the music.

It represents an enjoyable collection of action adventure themes that you should seriously consider adding to your soundtrack collection.
