Catastronauts is a fast-paced multiplayer action game in which players become a crew of intergalactic spacefarers who must work together to destroy an attacking enemy fleet, whilst frantically struggling to keep their own ship intact. Co-ordination, co-operation and decisiveness are essential to victory, as multiple tasks need to be taken care of across the vessel. Who is going to fire the lasers, arm the torpedoes, repair a breach in the hull and extinguish that damned fire? Boldly go, or things will go badly! In addition to the regular occupational hazards, each level offers unique challenges and dangers to deal with including solar flares and malfunctioning extraction doors. Meanwhile a whole host of unique mechanics will keep even the most experienced crew members on their toes...

Review imageCatastronauts is an engaging, frantic multiplayer game that allows you to play as an intergalactic team of up to four crew aboard your trusty spaceship. Attacked by nasty aliens, you have to return fire, while making sure that you undertake any repairs to damage your vessel takes during the battle.

It is possible to play as a single player but... it's much harder and nowhere near as much fun.

The game starts fairly easily in order for you to get to grips with the controls and the basic mechanics. And as you complete each mission the next one is just that little bit harder, bringing in new problems and new weapons for your to try.

Review imageThe graphics are bright and colourful, with your view of your environment being a cutaway of the ship so that you can see all the rooms and any dangers. There are guns which you can fire, but while you're waiting for them to recharge you'll have to pick up a tool kit to repair any damage, or a fire extinguisher to put out any fires.

The fun comes with trying to coordinate your team to have them working like a well oiled machine. Maybe you each take charge of one room; maybe you each have one task... However you decide to tackle each level it's a lot of fun.
