In the neo-noir city of Los Angeles, 2019, Ash, a veteran Blade Runner, is discovering that her new case is turning out to be anything other than routine. Employed by a billionaire to recover his wife and child, who were apparently kidnapped by Replicants for dark purposes, Ash's investigation is leading her to suspect that her client may not be all that he seems...

Issue #2 of Titan Comics's Blade Runner sees Ash unearthing that her employee's missing family might actually be on the run from him... but for what reasons remain just out of her grasp. We follow Ash as she follows up a number of leads, one of which sees her accidentally uncovering yet another replicant who has gone into hiding.

We also get a little more information on why the billionaire's wife and daughter are on the run. While their motives for fleeing are unclear, it's still not obvious whether the billionaire is the villain of the piece, even though the narrative is strongly pushing the reader to believe that is the case.

After the strong start of issue #1, I couldn't help feeling that this issue was just padding the storyline out a little by not revealing very much at all. The cliff-hanger ending seemed a little lazy, but then that's the problem with publishing monthly stories rather than printing it as a graphic novel where the pacing can be less constrained by 32-page installments.

It's still an enjoyable story so far, but lets hope that there's more meat on the bones in the next issue and that the writers are not spinning out a paper thin plot for as long as they can.
