Iris and the Giant is a game that's easy to pick up and play

If you're not a fan of collectible card games, there's not a lot here to convert you to the genre. However, if you are a fan, then you'll find this to be quite an interesting experience.

While there's little in the way of originality, Iris and the Giant is a game that's easy to pick up and play in hardly any time at all. But as the game rattles on you soon realise that you'll need to keep your wits about you if you're to move further into the story.

You're dealt a set number of cards which you can use to attack the approaching enemy or heal your wounds. Knowing the strengths and weaknesses of each enemy is paramount if you want to pass each phase. On each level you'll also encounter rocks that hide treasures and treasure chests that also... er... hide treasure. The contents of these can be used to level up certain abilities.

It's a good, solid card game

The narrative of the story is told in flashback, through memories. Throughout the game, you will uncover fragments of Iris’s memories, giving you new insight into the reasons behind your adventure in her mind.

It's a good, solid card game which will keep you coming back for more. The art style is interesting, the gameplay is solid. It just all boils down to whether or not you're a fan of the genre.
