The greatest starfighters of the Rebel Alliance become the defenders of a New Republic in this collection of stories featuring Wedge Antilles, hero of the Battle of Endor, and his team of ace pilots known throughout the galaxy as Rogue Squadron. Meet the Rogues for the first time and learn the fate of the galaxy immediately after the events of
Return of the Jedi as the Rebellion's best pilots battle remnants of the Empire wherever its ugly agenda of fear and domination appears...

Volume One of the X-Wing Rogue Squadron series of graphic novels is packed to bursting with stories from the Star Wars universe.

In the aftermath of the Battle of Endor and the death of the Emperor, a crack team of X-Wing pilots flies the missions nobody else dares to attempt. Led by war heroes Luke Skywalker and Wedge Antilles, Rogue Squadron are the best of the best. In the aftermath of Return of the Jedi, you'll meet the Rogues for the first time, and see the fate of the galaxy firsthand, as the Rebellion's finest pilots battle the crazed remnants of the Empire.

Even though numerous different writers and illustrators are involved, the whole thing flows like one continuous series. One of the added bonus for me (because I am such a geek) was spotting the various creatures that had appeared in the background (usually in the Cantina Bar in A New Hope) of the first three Star Wars movies.

An added bonus is the inclusion of several pages of illustrations and background notes on a number of the recurring characters and vehicles.

If you've never experienced this series before, then now is the perfect time to start collecting. You can't call yourself a proper Star Wars fan unless you have these tales in your collection.
