Volume 8 of School Rumble is possible the funniest volume to date. There's more romantic misunderstandings (as we've come to expect from this series). In fact School Rumble without romantic misunderstandings is like a Carry On film without sexual double entendre.

However, the main section of this book sees the students splitting up into two teams to decide what theme they will take for this years cultural fair. Will the pupils stage a play, have a cafe where all the school girls wear maid outfits, or... rather less likely... swimsuit wrestling?

To decide two groups are formed in one of the school blocks. Both are armed with BB guns, a base and a flag. Whichever team captures the others flag and takes it back to their base is the winner. Once you've been hit by a BB bullet you're out of the game.

Some of the students take the game far too seriously, while others are completely clueless as to what to do. All of which makes for plenty of laughs.

Fans of the series will find this latest edition one of the best yet.
