Oliver Queen is a frivolous playboy with little care for anyone or anything - apparently even himself. But when he's double-crossed and marooned on a jungle island, he finds that he does care about something: justice. Armed with nothing more than a makeshift bow and arrows, Queen struggles to survive in his new, unforgiving environment - all while battling the violent drug runners who are responsible for his abandonment...

Oliver Queen has been a member of the Justice League of America and defended Star City with his trusty bow and an arsenal of deadly arrows for years - now fans can re-explore how he became Green Arrow in this hardcover edition that collects the 6-issue miniseries which was originally printed in comic book form in 2007.

Oliver Queen - the liberal, womanising multi-millionaire also known as the superhero Green Arrow - is the protector of Star City, with his son, Connor, and ward, Mia. But in his youth, Oliver Queen was little more than a rich drunk - until a fishing trip turned to attempted murder, and Queen found himself washed up on an island with a deadly secret: it was home to a group of vicious heroin smugglers, led by Chien Na-Wei (who Queen insisted on calling "China White"), a beautiful and lethal criminal mastermind.

With only his wits and a hastily-constructed bow to protect himself, can the fledgling Green Arrow save the island's slaves - and himself?

This collection explains how Queen originally chose a bow and arrows as his weapon of choice (and sees the origin of his stun arrow), and how he's always been a big fan of Robin Hood. It also explores Queen's lack of life goals, as well as his insistence on looking for the next thrill at whatever the cost. But these traits are soon knocked out of our hero when he's marooned on an island and has to fend for himself.

This is the perfect collection for loyal fans of Green Arrow, or those coming to the series for the first time. A thrill from start to finish.
