Vaan travels the skies of Ivalice with his trusted navigator Penelo at his side. Their treasure hunting adventures take them to the sky continent of Lemurés where they meet Llyud, a member of the aegyl race. These mysterious winged people have been living on the floating continent for centuries, but a disturbance has allowed treasure-seeking sky pirates to breach their once-hidden territory. It falls to Vaan and his band of young sky pirates to stand up against the trespassers, and defend this extraordinary world and its people...

Set one year after the events of Final Fantasy XII, Revenant Wings allows fans of the franchise to experience new scenarios, meet new characters and explore new locations in the fantastic and beautiful world of Ivalice, where they may also recognise some familiar characters, locations and game play systems too.

You play as a young sky-pirate called Vaan who, along with his friends - including his best-friend Penelo, embark on an adventure. The game starts off with you having to recover a green Jewel. The group soon realise that if they are to have any real adventure it won't be in the land of Ivalice. So they decide to steal an airship and head off to new lands.

What's great about this game is that even if you've never played a Final Fantasy adventure before you can jump straight in without knowing any of the back story. The Final Fantasy series was once thought of as a little cliquey - if you didn't know the characters and the universe you'd be a little out of your depth - and this put a lot of potential players off from discovering the series.

Sure, it helps if you know the universe as there are little references to things that fans will appreciate, but on the whole this is a fresh, new game that is pretty easy to get into. There's a lengthy tutorial to help you slip into the game pretty easily.

The graphics and music are way above average - in fact the cut scene graphics are some of the best you'll have seen on the Nintendo DS.

Overall, this is a pretty well polished game - exactly what you'd expect from the latest Final Fantasy title.
