Play as the hero or the villain in this goo-soaked action-packed adventure. Battle your way through Nicktoon universes to defeat the evil Globulous and his morphoid minions. All ten players have special Mawgu gadgets that if used work together provide extra powers. Can villains and heroes really work together? Now's your chance to find out...

Globs of Doom is a little (but only a little) misleading in that it's not really a SpongeBob game as such. It's more a Nicktoons based game where you happen to be given the option to play as SpongeBob if you want.

Because this sort of game is usually aimed at the younger gamer I usually make allowances for this when I sum up whether it's a game worth buying. And, while this release will no doubt find an audience with Nicktoons fans, as a game it comes up short in many key areas - not least of which is the fact that, for a game designed for the younger market, it's way too hard.

Each level requires you to pair up a hero and villain from the Nicktoons universe in order to save the day. You can alternate between the characters, all of which have their own special move and ability. In order to progress through the levels you'll need to use the strengths of both characters. However, as a seasoned platform gamer, even I had problems (and fairly early on too) where I had no idea where to go or how to solve certain problems.

Normally issues like this would have me shelving the game quite quickly but, as I was being paid to review the game, I had to plow through until I'd exhausted about every element of the game that I could.

The graphics are pretty average for this style of game and the music and sound are also pretty run-of-the-mill. In fact, the only real notable aspect is the fact that you can play through the game as numerous characters. The lack of any minigames or other extras make this a pretty dull offering.
