Dear
Johnny Fanboy,
Here's another Deep Space Nine Season 4 question for
you.
In
the episode To the Death Dr Bashir seems to make a
very bad diagnosis. Near the beginning of the episode there
is a discussion between Sisko and Kira in one of the corridors
of the damaged DS9.
The scene opens with Bashir checking a body and saying: "This
one's gone" to his helper. Then he moves on to another casualty
and says what is wrong with her. The scene then shifts to
an over-the-shoulder shot of Sisko talking to Kira and in
the background Bashir moves back to the first body and mutters
something. Then seconds later he is checking the same body
again and this time his helper seems to be administering some
aid.
Could
it be that the body was never dead and that Bashir is a crap
doctor?

Fanboy replies:
Mistakes
like this do happen in the medical profession from time to
time. Maybe the words that Bashir mutters are: "Oh, shit,
hang on - he's alive after all! Better not let Captain Sisko
see that little bit of incompetence."
Alternatively,
perhaps what he actually means when he says, "This one's gone"
is "This one's gone to sleep"!
Or
maybe there were a pair of twins among the patients, one dead
and one alive.
