"Yes, we will be doing the movie, and hopefully with Mr. Murray," said Aykroyd. "That is our hope. We have an excellent script, but what we have to remember is that Ghostbusters is bigger than any one component. Although Billy was the lead and contributed to it in a massive way, along with myself, Harold (Ramis) and the director and Sigourney (Weaver), the concept is bigger than any one individual role."

Talking about the plot of the film, Aykroyd said: "The promise of Ghostbusters 3 is that we get to hand the equipment and the franchise down to new blood. My character, Ray, is now blind in one eye and can't drive the Cadillac. He's got a bad knee and can't carry the packs. Egon is too large to get into the harness. We need young blood and that's the promise. We're gonna hand it to a new generation. We want to go into production in the spring, I hope."

The only thing that's happening is that we're moving a bit later. There's lots of reasons for that that will become clear quite soon. It is certainly not a reduced episode count. Do you think the BBC would really let that happen? With an average audience of 10 million?... Doctor Who's international profile is huge. It's never been more successful. You're not going to reduce a show like this. The opposite is going to happen, in fact."

news picThe powers that be at the Starz network have revealed that they're happy with the current success of Torchwood - but not happy enough to renew it for another season.

According to Sci-fi Wire this season's 10-episode order was "a large and unusual commitment" for co-production partner the BBC and another renewal depends on whether or not Russell T Davies can come up with an idea that's beneficial for both companies.

Chris Albrecht, CEO of Starz, said: "Torchwood is not one of the shows we went into thinking about a yearly return. It's about Russell T Davies... he has a lot of things on his plate. If Torchwood is at the top of his list, that will affect the future of Torchwood."
