Have you been waiting for the release of Spielberg's Night Skies? Or Ridley Scott's I Am Legend? Surely you've heard that Tim Burton was planning to make SuperMan Lives?

If any or all of these slipped you by, then The Greatest Sci-fi Movies Never Made is for you! And if you did know about all of these then the book is still worth buying as there are loads more little bits of information tucked away in this wonderful work of fact.

The book kicks off in the right gear with a bitter and depressing foreword by H.R. Giger (the man responsible for providing Hollywood the designs for Alien) He claims that Hollywood do not respect the talent of the designer as well as they should and goes on to state that Alien is the only film he has been proud to be a part of.

There are a few entries which have done the rounds for years. For example there can't be anyone who hasn't heard some word on Philip Kaufman's original plans for the Star Trek: The Motion Picture. And with Fox due to release Dune: The mini-series over here soon there can't be a Frank Herbert fan left who hasn't heard the author's famous quote: "A lot of people have tried to film Dune. They all failed."

But there are pages and pages of this stuff - with something for everyone. Want to know about what happened to the movie versions of: Watchmen, The Fantastic Four, Silver Surfer and The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy? Well everything you need to know is right here.

Every sci-fi fan should own this.
