The final feature-length episode of Voyager has been screened in the US and on Sky1 and will be appearing on terrestrial TV screens and video any day now. So why novelise the story? And why spread it over two books? Endgame, you see, chronicles only the first half of the plot.

Let's be blunt about this - the book is nothing more than a cynical money-get and therefore an utterly worthless waste of paper. Yes, it's written okay, but that's hardly the point. Endgame has no reason to exist other than to bleed yet more cash from Trek fans who already shell out plenty on a great sea of over-priced merchandise as it is.

If you want to know how Voyager ends and the crew gets home borrow a tape from a friend who has Sky or wait until the video comes out. Do not under any circumstances part with your cash for this book.
