In three thrilling, nerve-shredding stories - Top Traitor, The Vikings and The Head Girls - Modesty mist rip deeply through her own organisation to uncover a spy, do battle with homicidal Norsemen and cross claws with a pride of she-kittens led by an old adversary...

Top Traitor sees another collection of classic spy strips that were originally printed in The Evening Standard. It seems almost criminal that the exploits of Modesty Blaise have, for the most part, gone unnoticed by the general populous. Everyone knows of James Bond, but I doubt whether many of today's generation have heard of Modesty.

This is a great shame, as the stories reprinted here are as equally entertaining as the Daily Express's James Bond strips - which, incidentally, are also being reprinted by Titan Books at the moment.

While there is no question that these strips show their age - both the artwork and dialogue appear dated - there is something about them that is charming to an old comics fan like myself.

This collection also features an interesting introduction, which looks at the '60s Modesty Blaise movie, and sees the second part of an interview with author Peter O'Donnell.

As with the previous volume, this is a fantastic collection that is certainly worth taking a look at.
