The JLA investigates a rash of child disappearances... but soon begin to disappear themselves. Before long, Superman is brainwashed and in the hands of a fanatic cult that worships an ancient, vampiric evil. And who are the mysterious powerful beings that have been shadowing the JLA - friend, foe or something entirely different?...

I found The Tenth Circle to be extremely hard to wade through. It's not that the story is deep and complex - far from it. It's just that the whole thing seemed to drag on a bit.

The story is, I'm afraid, a little clichéd. Children are disappearing and it's down to the JLA to investigate. But what they uncover is more than they'd bargained for (obviously).

Sadly, I couldn't really get into this graphic novel as well as I should have done. It has some interesting (if well used) plot twists - vampires, Superman turning bad etc. But for some reason it doesn't seem to gel together in a satisfying way.

The artwork is fine but the story is a little lacking in several departments and there is no way that new JLA readers will be able to pick this up and read comfortably. A fairly average collection.
