They've been responsible
for some of the most dazzling and awe-inspiring visuals ever put to film, and now the concept artists behind Star Wars: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith bring their talents to comics. The gifted minds of the Lucasfilm art department and the visual effects powerhouse Industrial Light & Magic come together to tell their own Star Wars tales in this compilation of short stories. Given free reign to explore any and every aspect of the Star Wars universe, each artist offers a new twist or a deeper view into that galaxy far, far away...

Visionaries is an extremely interesting idea - give a collection of individuals who worked on the art side of Star Wars: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith free reign in the Star Wars universe and see what their twisted minds can create. The results are pretty spectacular.

This collection sets off on the right foot with Old Wounds. This sees Obi-Wan Kenobi having to take on an old adversary long thought dead. This is followed up by The Artist of Naboo, which sees an artist who saves Padme's live and then falls in love with her as he begins to paint her and her children (the young Luke and Leia Skywalker).

My favourite inclusion was the final tale, The Eyes of Revolution, which revolves around General Grievous. It shows the creation of the once human general and how he was transformed into the android we all know from Episode III.

To be fair, there isn't a bad tale here. And the very different art styles and story telling formats used here mean that there is something to suit all tastes. A wonderful collection that all true Star Wars fans should own.
