On his own, Gar Logan returns to Hollywood to resurrect his acting career. What he doesn't expect is to find himself behind bars, framed for a crime he didn't commit. Worse, his only hope for acquittal rests with the somewhat scatterbrained wannabe Titan Flamebird. In a separate adventure, Gar is suddenly normal, no longer able to assume animal form. When the children of San Francisco begin exhibiting his abilities, the Titans have to calm an angry and frightened populace and figure out what happened. And when they do, Gar's world is rocked...

Beast Boys & Girls is mainly concerned with the exploits of Beast Boy. So, if you like this character - and, let's face it, who doesn't? - you'll enjoy this collection.

This collection is tongue-in-cheek for the most part. The first tale sees Beast Boy arrested for a crime he pleads innocent to - but how many people are there that can change into green beasts? The other story sees Beast Boy loose his super powers, in fact he looses his colour and becomes normal. But, for some reason, hundreds of innocent children seem to have contracted his condition and there are all kinds of animals running amok.

There is plenty going on this collection, in fact maybe a bit too much. There are a number of background stories which could have easily been turned into main plots.

Flamebird has to be about the most annoying, do-gooder, airhead, superhero ever created. She means well, but is a pain in everyone's rear end. It was a shame that she wasn't used a little more, as I really grew to like this annoying character.

This is a worthy addition to the Teen Titan stable. It's fun, gripping, and well plotted.
