Mario sets off with Princess Peach for a well deserved holiday on a sun-kissed tropical island. But the rest and relaxation don't last long. A dastardly vandal has been polluting the beautiful landscape - and to make matters worse, he's the spitting image of mario himself! In his quest Mario bumps into many of his old friends. He even gets to hop on Yoshi for an enemy-squishing ride around the island. And he also shows off a range of new moves, including a new spinning jump, and an improved belly-slide that takes advantage of the mud slicks coating the landscape...

Well, the long wait is finally over. Fans have been waiting far too long for the latest in the series of Mario games. The big question is can Super Mario Sunshine live up to the unreal expectations that are being placed on it?

To start with the graphics are an improvement over the previous games, but there is nothing here that will have you too excited - although the water effects are nice. I also found the camera extremely frustrating. On far too many occasions Mario disappears entirely from the screen and all that remains of him is his shadow.

There are some fun hidden levels and this is certainly a game that has a high level of playability.

All in all, this game is worthy of the Mario title and is incredible fun to play. However, there are some inexcusable bugs that should have been fixed before releasing this on a hungry market.
