Take a band of gun-toting rebels, a robot, a madman, a mole and a criminal mastermind. Put them in a vividly stunning fantasy realm. Then give them an impossible mission - pulling off the biggest heist of all time in the middle of a war. All you have to do is battle your way through dastardly enemies, giant war machines and an army of psychopathic robots. But don't worry; you have plenty of ammo and absolutely no common sense. Victory is yours in 12,000 bullets or less...

Armed and Dangerous sees you take on the persona of Roman, the leader of a gang known as The Lionhearts. Your quest is to take your group of outlaws and steal the Book of Rule. But you are going to need to dispatch a raging horde of monsters if you are to complete your quest.

So how are you going to accomplish such a task? With the weirdest arsenal imaginable that's how. You start off with your trusty machine gun, but you can also use many other neat weapons including the land shark gun, sniper rifle, personal mortar, vindaloo rocket launcher and infinite-ammo rifle. There are also a whole stack of bombs you can use including the topsy turvey bomb and the world's smallest black hole. And don't worry about conserving your ammo - there is plenty to be found.

In your missions you have the help of Q and Jonesy - although keeping them alive is difficult (and not essential). These characters also add to the game's great sense of humour.

The missions vary in difficulty, as well as tactically. There are missions where you are on the offensive and others where you must go on the defensive. The defensive missions are a little on the repetitive side, and get a tad boring after a while. But if you are going to go on the offensive, you'll be glad that this game allows you to save at any point. I did enjoy the odd silly mission, like rescuing a sheep, but by far the greatest fun to be had is in the mass killing of the raging hoards.

There is something for everybody here in this game that is fun, frantic and addictive.
