In a violent age, eons from now, nomad humans roam the earth, inflicting cruelty on the beasts and creatures of the world. The human race is wasteful, selfish and fights amongst itself, while those closest to nature, the beast race, learn from human failings evolving and growing stronger with the passing of time. A daily struggle ensues, man against beast, for the very basic national resources that nurture life. Each race has its own style of battle, its own leader, and its own way to victory...

Savage combines real time strategy and first person action. Multiplayer fans will love the fact that instead of sending mindless computer drones into battle, you can organise real human players on a crusade to conquer your adversaries.

This is really two games in one and you can play it as a real-time strategy (RTS) game or a first person shooter (FPS). In fact, a new category has been created known as real-time strategy shooter (RTSS).

You can choose to be a commander, and play an in-depth RTS game, researching technologies, mining resources, and issuing orders to their warriors. Or, if being a commander is not your scene and you'd rather be in the thick of the action, you can choose to be a warrior (playing in FPS mode) and undertake a game of first person combat, wielding your weapon of choice to strike down the enemy. Whatever mode you choose, this RTSS malarkey has turned out to be a bit of a winner.

There's also something else you don't see very often, an online multiplayer game that has been designed to be as accessible as possible to the average punter. The fairly low specs mean that more people will be able to play this straight out of the box, with the minimum of fuss.

When I say "low specs" that's not an insult - on the contrary. How many times have you not been able to play a game because your six month old computer is just too out of date to process the sound and graphics as they should be? Savage offers fantastic graphics and sounds, but won't mean you have to re-mortgage your house to play it as the designers intended it to be seen. And believe me, the graphics are fantastic.

New, and original, Savage breathes fresh life into the gaming market.
