The shameless bunch from the Outlaw series returns to the repressed world of golf with their outrageously twisted antics. Bodacious babes and deviant dudes take to the course. Anyone and everyone can grab some balls and spin, hook and slice their way into the action online, where 10 over-the-top characters turn boring old golf into a rowdy and tasteless display of uninhibited fun...

Outlaw Golf 2, like the other games in this series (Outlaw Golf and Outlaw Volleyball), follows the simple rule: take a boring sports sim and add a little bit of spice. If you like golf, and dominatrix women in lingerie are your thing, then Outlaw Golf 2 is the game you've been praying for.

When you start you must choose your team - a golfer and caddy - from a choice of four. The most interesting are the beautiful Summer and her dominatrix caddy. Later on, as you progress thorough the levels, you can unlock other characters. The two redneck players are probably the most entertaining and have the most amazing celebratory dances.

The cut scenes (where the golfers perform certain actions) before and after shots becomes boring very quickly. Not just because they are repetitive, but because they slow up the game. And even though you can skip these, it still takes something away from the pace. The cut scenes are also a little childish in places - most of them being very un-PC.

The commentator is funny for about two minutes and then his oh-so-clever remarks start to repeat a little too often. Not only that, but it's sometimes totally wrong. I chipped in a lovely little shot only to be told that I was a rubbish shot - even though I managed to get it in under par.

Driving your ball towards the hole is simple enough - use the left or right analogue stick and pull back. Wait until the power meter gets to the desired level and then push the stick forward. But this game comes into its own when on the green.

Putting has always been a sticking point on golf sims - being either too easy or too hard. Outlaw Golf 2 uses a nifty little device that really works. While on the green you have a target which you can move around. This shows you where you are aiming the ball. But in order to see the angles of the green you simply press the square button. This shows you the ball's predicted route if you strike it. Simply move the target around until the line leads straight to the hole... Oh, and you can only press the square button a maximum of three times per shot.

There are plenty of mini games and different levels to keep you amused for months and every time you complete one level this unlocks another game. Also, as you progress, you earn points that you can swap for increased powers (putting, distance, composure etc). Another feature allows you to play online, if you so desire, against real players who also have no friends.

Politically correct it may not be, but that's part of the attraction. And at the end of the day this does manage to breathe new life into a tired format. If only there had been more variety in the commentary and cut scenes...

For those of you who like golf, but want a little more fun... Outlaw Golf 2 is worth a look - especially as you can pick it up for under £20.
