From
Alexander to Zulu, Hollywood has chartered the history of the world. This collection gathers together some of the most awe-inspiring film music to create a timeline across the centuries. A towering collection of 56 classic film themes featuring over 290 minutes of music spread across four CDs...

Epics is an interesting collection of film music that charts the progress of civilisation from Prehistoric times up until the rule of the British Empire. Along the way we visit The Ancient World, The Might of Rome, The Fall of Rome, Biblical Epics, Medieval Europe, Pirates & Swashbuckler, Kings & Queens, Heroes and The New Worlds.

There are plenty of tracks from movies that I was unfamiliar with (The 300 Spartans and Taras Bulba being just two) but Silva Screen have kindly included notes that detail the year each movie was released - which will be handy for anyone who intends to track down a few of these films.

Some of the most impressive tracks include music from One Million Years B.C., Gladiator, Spartacus, Alexander, Ben-Hur, Jesus of Nazareth, Pirates of the Caribbean, Braveheart, The Charge of the Light Brigade and Lawrence of Arabia.

From the powerful and stirring music from The Ten Commandments to the moving Now We Are Free track from Gladiator, this album has something to suit all tastes.

If you're looking for a collection that features a good selection of movie music with various styles, then look no more. A well priced release that should have pride of place in any movie buff's collection.
